It’s perfect and the price is right!
1st guard was great; 2nd not so much
First, let's give high fives all around for customer service - it is fantastic. Truly. It's the 3rd star for this review.
I purchased a kit from Walgreens for my first mouth guard in 2022, made the molds (easy enough even though I wanted to gag during the process - not a reflection of the product - just the process), sent them in and had a brand-new, shiny mouth guard for moderate/heavy clenchers in my chompers within a week. It fit like a glove, easy to wear, easy to clean, and I didn't clench my way to failure for a good eight months.
In September of this year, I ordered my second mouth guard for moderate clenchers/grinders. I was contacted right away that if there were no major changes to teeth, they could use my existing mold and create a new guard. Great! No significant changes were needed and I had a new guard within a week.
Except it wasn't the same as I got last time - it was thicker, and didn't cover my back molars (stopped short by one tooth both sides) like the previous one did. It still fit like a glove, but I was wondering how I would do with this changed style. Answer - I cracked one side by week 3 and shortly thereafter cracked the other. The new guard hasn't had catastrophic failure (falling apart), but there is audible cracking that happens as I wear it.
I'm disappointed that the guard I paid 3x more for the second go-round didn't even last a third of the time as the first one. Something in the manufacturing process appears to have changed between the…
Hello, Sarah --
We're so sorry to hear that your 2nd custom night guard didn't work out as well as your first one, but to our defense: your 1st Otis custom night guard purchased at Walgreens was actually for our "Regular" (mild-to-moderate grinding) thickness, and your 2nd online order through our website was for our "Extra" (moderate-to-severe grinding) thickness. This is why you noticed thicker material with the 2nd one, and we had to trim the back so you'd be able to bite completely down. That said, we'd be more than happy to help resolve the matter. Simply contact us at email@example.com and we'll provide a shipping label, so you can return the product and have another "Regular" thickness guard made -- free of charge. We look forward to hearing from you!
Excellent product. Comparable to dental office quality at a fraction of the cost. Also great customer service.
Easy, comfortable, and affordable. Couldn't be happier with my new custom night guard!
I've been grinding my teeth in my sleep for years, but always put off getting a custom night guard at the dentist because of the high cost. I tried the mouthguards from the drugstore, and those were a bust. So when I came across Otis, I was so pleasantly surprised to see that I could finally have a custom guard for an affordable price.
The at-home impression process was really fast and easy to do, and thankfully, the material is virtually tasteless! As someone who wore braces for years, I was expecting the goopy molds from the orthodontist's office. This was an entirely different experience- I didn't have to suppress my gag reflex!
The mouthguard itself fits perfectly and feels like a natural extension of my teeth. It's comfortable and I'm able to sleep with it just fine. I'm so glad that I'm finally protecting my teeth. Highly recommend Otis!!
Great product and customer service too!
Really happy with my mouth guard. It was so easy to do the mold, I received my mouth guard quickly and now get a new one every few months. Customer service was so helpful and quick to send a replacement when my dog decided to chew my mouth guard.
